The Ourika Valley is located around 60km from Marrakech. The trip itself is worth attention. You will drive through the scenic High Atlas foothill road, containing a number of Berber villages, small road shops full of local arts and crafts and a great mountain views along the river. Ourika Valley is a nice place for hiking and discovering the countryside of Marrakesh.
Ourika Valley tour is leading to a small village called Setti Fatma with its famous seven waterfalls. These waterfalls are not as impressive as the one in Ouzoud (110 m), however still worth a hike. The hike up to the waterfalls can be a bit hard if you are not used to hiking. You will be led by a local guide who will help you in the difficult path places. Don’t forget to bring water and comfortable shoes! In Ourika valley, in the winter season it is a bit cold, bring something warm, just in case.
On the way to Setti Fatma, you will visit the association of women making Argan oil, will stop at a few scenic stops. Some of the stops might be a bit annoying because of local sellers, but that’s the way these locals can support their families. Lunch will be at a nice local restaurant.
