Hi! My name is Rasa and I call myself Blondie in Morocco.
Originally from Lithuania, I am a journalist, blogger, cinema maniac, communication manager, ideas generator and a slow traveler.
After graduating from Vilnius Academy of Arts (BA in Art Criticism and History), I worked mainly in the media world as a journalist and news editor. I was editor-in-chef of one Lithuanian leisure magazine/website; worked for a design and travel magazines.
Furthermore, my passion for cinema leaded me to create a blog about independent cinema Kinomaistas.lt. Later, I started to work for an international contemporary art fair ArtVilnius where till now I remain as a freelancer media project manager. If you ever visit Vilnius in June, do not hesitate to visit ArtVilnius and say hi! Daily news, international events expanded my world, and wanted to experience it by myself! I moved to Amsterdam and fall in love with this beautiful city.
Finally, Morocco, where the first time I moved almost five year ago. Before deciding to call Morocco home, I have been here many times. There were many love&hate relationships with this country, many runs out and coming back. Last spring, I finally decided that Marrakech is my home. So, here I am, living in Marrakech, a city that makes you fall in love even when the temperature hits +50C; at winter we are freezing inside the walls and going to ski in the mountains near by.
Blondie in Morocco is is not only a blog about my life here. My aim is to help altering the imagine of this beautiful country, make it more accessible for travelers all over the world. In addition, I help organizing all kinds of trips depending on one’s wishes and budget. Not only that, I want to show the real life of Marrakech, introduce to local traditions through the eyes of me as an expat.
My slogan is “If Blondie can do it, you can do it”. You all can travel and be safe in Morocco, opposite than some media channels and closed minded people are suggesting.
Let’s stay in touch:
